Expedia Logo

Expedia is the O.G. of online travel search engines. It might not be as popular as it used to be before the plethora of different travel sites that we have now became available, but it’s still a great source to look up almost any kind of travel need you may have. Whether you’re looking for flights, hotels, cruises or more, Expedia has you covered.

Get Your Guide Logo

GetYourGuide is one of two popular search engines designed specifically to find tours and experiences in popular destinations across the globes. In addition to specific tours, you can also often buy tickets for tourist attractions from GetYourGuide. It may not have nearly as many options as Viator, but what they do offer tends to be of high quality.

Viator Logo

Like GetYourGuide, Viator is a search engine dedicated to helping you find and book tours across the world. The main difference is the sheer volume of experiences on Viator. You can search from over 300,000 tours to find the best options for your trip! Viator even offers a price match guarantee meaning they’ll refund the difference if you’re able to find a cheaper price online after you book your tour.

Booking.com Logo

Booking.com is my go-to travel resource for booking hotels online. Most importantly, they consistently have the cheapest prices for hotels, but I also find their search engine easy to use to filter results to my specific needs. I almost always start my search here before comparing with other sites. Booking.com also offers a simple, three-tiered rewards program where you gain benefits with more stays at participating hotels. Rewards can include free breakfast and free room upgrades.

Hotels.com Logo

Hotels.com is one of the more popular hotel-booking sites on the web today. It’s simple to use and with their free rewards program, you’re able to earn perks and get discounts on a number of hotels.

VRBO Logo

VRBO is like Airbnb except better. Unlike Airbnb, VRBO is almost always an entire home rental rather than smaller, often shared spaces. This fact makes your rental almost always private. VRBO is great for large groups, too, since you can find so many whole homes to stay in. It also tends to be cheaper than Airbnb despite having better spaces available.

Skyscanner Logo

Skyscanner is an excellent tool for searching for and booking the best flight deals. My favorite part of Skyscanner is that it allows you to do a search for anywhere in the world by simply typing in “everywhere” as your destination. You can also put in entire months for your departure and return dates. These two capabilities allow you to find great deals as long as you’re flexible. What’s more, you can also set notifications for yourself for when prices change.
